Designing Intelligent Student Guidance

An AI-powered experience that helps learners stay on track academically and explore new opportunities for growth.

The Opportunity

Our platform supported thousands of students, yet academic progress tracking was fragmented and reactive. We saw an opportunity to transform static degree audits into dynamic progress journeys and introduce conversational AI as an accessible support layer.

This initiative became the foundation for our broader AI strategy.

I led the design to define the experience vision and AI integration strategy. I collaborated closely with Product to shape scalable AI solutions and produced the final animation assets used to communicate the strategic vision.

Project Goals

• Clarify academic progress with an improved dashboard where students could easily review their degree progress.

• Encourage continued learning by showcasing certifications students could enroll in and illustrating their impact on degree outcomes.

• Enable seamless support through conversational design between students and the AI assistant, providing guidance in a natural, accessible way.

Strategic Impact

This work was presented by our VP to showcase our strategic direction for AI across the organization’s largest platform.

It became a vision-setting artifact used in partnership with Product to define scalable AI opportunity spaces, align cross-functional teams, and inform future AI solution roadmapping

The project shifted the conversation from “feature enhancement” to “AI-enabled student success ecosystem.”
